Services & Amenities
Good health is the state in which you are at your best, when your physical, mental and social well-being are well looked after. Our philosophy is based on individuals being able to “age in place.” As your needs change, you can change the services you use, without having to move out of your home. You are supported in maintaining your independence for as long as possible. Customized services are available on an a la carte basis, so that you only use the service you need, and you only pay for the services you use.
Just because you're aging doesn't mean you should stop living an active and vibrant lifestyle. Your dreams, passions and hobbies are as unique as you are. Courtyard Gardens is a place where you can continue to be yourself and keep growing as an individual. Being socially connected will enhance your ability to stay healthy in spirit, body, and mind. We have all sorts of activities to keep you engaged and happy.
When you call Courtyard Gardens home it’s not just because it's where you wake up every morning, but because you're surrounded by peace of mind and warmth from people who genuinely care about your well-being. We believe that you should feel safe and reassured when living here. All our staff are trained in specific safety and security procedures which means that your safety isn't treated like a job—it's woven into everything we do.
An important feature of living in a community like Courtyard Gardens is that your suite doesn’t have to be the only place where you spend your day. For your convenience we have all kinds of spaces and places outside your suite that you can access. These shared areas are for all to enjoy.
For most of us, the kitchen is the heart of the home. Everyone is welcomed with open arms and good food, and keeping in mind the tastes and preferences of both guests and family members alike is a pleasure. We agree that fussing over loved ones is a joyful part of creating a memorable meal, be it formal or informal. At Courtyard Gardens our chefs take care of everything so you can enjoy your time with friends and family. We're at your service to make sure your dining experience is a great one each and every meal.

What People Say About Us
I love volunteering at Courtyard Gardens because it gives me the opportunity to continue what I love doing in helping to offer support to the residents through socializing, listening and spending time with them. Volunteering creates meaningful connections that enhances both volunteers' and residents' quality of life. Courtyard is a very warm and caring facility that makes me feel very much part of the team.
When our parents moved into Courtyard Gardens about 8 months ago, my sister and I hoped that it would provide a safer and easier residence for our parents, particularly our mom who had had a couple of falls and could use some additional assistance. Not only has the move provided the physical supports we’d hoped, but it has exceeded our expectations in terms of the benefits to their lifestyle. They’ve made new friends, engaged much more socially, enjoyed the entertainment options and participated in the holiday celebrations. They are still excited by the ever-changing menu and weekly activities and we are thrilled to know they are enjoying where they are (safely) living. Thank you to all the staff of Courtyard Gardens who go above and beyond to create such a great place for people to live and thrive.
We just want to take the time to tell you how grateful we are for Courtyard Gardens and the staff and services there. Our parents moved to their suite in February at a time when my mom’s health was very precarious and my dad didn’t want to move. Initially it was scary and somewhat challenging, but now we know it was well worth it! These 5 months have passed very quickly and now my parents are doing so well we can’t believe it! The socializing and activities and the community overall have literally improved their health and happiness levels so much it brings a great peace of mind for us family members. The best part is that our parents are experiencing an unexpected new lease on life - happier, healthier and more engaged living! We love coming to happy hour and meals with them as the community is very welcoming. Thank you so much to all the staff and management for the personalized care, kindness, and services you provide! You make a difference in the world.
Thank you so very much for all your assistance and compassion given to my family. Everyone at Courtyard Gardens made us feel very welcome while mom made her new home. Ana & the rest of the staff thoroughly supported us, stepping up even further us as mom's health declined. Providing palliative care fulfilled mom's wish to pass away at home. I had viewed about a dozen facilities in the lower mainland - Courtyard Gardens surpasses them all! The building is always so clean & bright, the activities are abundant and the staff is outstanding! I'm proud to refer all my friends and family to your wonderful organization! Thank you for helping us through a most difficult time! Forever in our hearts!
I feel that it is important at this time, when people everywhere have challenges, to let you know that my mom has flourished with the care that has been provided to her by the staff at Courtyard Gardens. When quarantine restrictions first came into place, I was extremely worried that my mom would not be able to manage on her own at Courtyard Gardens. Prior to COVID-19, my mom had support from a privately hired caregiver or family member every day. She had a very hard time managing day to day on her own. Given her state of mental health, I did not think that she would be able to manage in her apartment with no group activities or meals in the dining room. I felt that I would probably have to take my mom home to live with my husband and me, which was not ideal either as our home is on many levels and would not accommodate my mom's limited mobility.
In the ensuing three months, my mom has flourished due in large part to the outstanding care that she has received at Courtyard Gardens. The care aides, Melanie, Pam, Leonora, and Pinder all know her personally and treat her more as a family rather than just another resident. Given that my mom is 85, she has many challenges, operating her TV and CD player, putting in her hearing aids, and worrying about the small details of everyday life. The care aides have each spent extra time with my mom helping her deal with these challenges and providing emotional support. They are all dear to her, each in a different way.
The recreation staff, Charlene, Linda, Wendy, and Allyson know my mom's interests and make a point of inviting her to activities, especially musical ones. With a bit of extra encouragement and an invitation, my mom has loved going to name that tune, yoga, and exercises. She was so pleased when she won Scattergories with the word garter for g. I would be remiss not to mention the time that Charlene and Linda have spent helping my mom connect with her granddaughters on their birthdays through FaceTime and setting up the TV in the Dogwood Room for her to watch the church service from the Vatican on Easter Sunday and Mother's Day. I am also thankful for people inviting my mom on walks so as to maintain her mobility and provide her with a bit of company. It has been all these small acts of kindness that have enriched my mom's life and made her days happy during this otherwise lonely, uncertain time.
The nursing staff has been exceptional in their care as well. My mom feels comfortable asking Ana, Aman, or Ardita (I think that is her name-she is new) if she has a medical worry, of which there are many. Often these issues happen in the evening and Aman is always willing to visit my mom in her room and treat her issues, no matter how minor. As a daughter, who has always been incredibly involved with all aspects of my mom's medical care, it heartens me to know that she is being well taken care of.
I also want to express my thanks to Diane, Gina, and Mindy. They have all delivered packages, flowers, and laundry with care and in a timely manner. I know that Diane is also one of the tech angels who helped my mom with her tv when she could not work the remote. Thanks also to the cleaning staff. I know that there is one woman in particular who is kind and patient with my mom as she worries about whether or not to have her sheets changed. She realizes that my mom is an 85-year-old woman who needs support.
These past three months have been difficult and worrisome for all of us. Please know that we, Eda's family, appreciate all that you and the staff at Courtyard Gardens are doing to make her life better. If I have missed anyone, my apologies. Every day, we are thankful when we come to visit and mom is smiling and tells us stories about what she has done. As a team, you are making her life better.
With gratitude,
Wanda Salewski
on behalf of Eda's family
