Let’s Embrace Aging Passionately (L.E.A.P.) Award

We are thrilled to announce that Sally Houston, Resident of Gilmore Gardens, was a co-winner of Resident of the Year by BCSLA’s Let’s Embrace Aging Passionately. Gilmore would like to thank Sally for contributing all that she does within the community she lives, for being an inspiration to other residents, a champion for social causes, promoting community involvement, and improving the quality of life for so many!

Sally was formally recognized at this year’s BCSLA Conference, in September by Darryl Plecas, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Health for Seniors.

Take a break from routine that includes accommodation in our guest suite, home-cooked meals, plus a variety of activities and entertainment. 30% off which equals $80 per night for single or $90 for double occupancy. Subject to availability, so don’t delay!

Gilmore Gardens has received BC Senior Living Association’s Seal of Approval to 2017! Every two years, we complete and pass both an internal self-assessment and a rigorous independent external review.

We are proud to say that Gilmore has maintained the highest standards in retirement living, within BC, since this program’s inception in 2010.

Gilmore Gardens Resident Council has been busy fundraising this holiday season. They, along with staff, helped organize a Craft & Bake Sale, plus a Prize Draw Raffle, which together provided our local Christmas Fund and Food Bank with some holiday cheer. Together the Gilmore team sourced donations from the community and suppliers, helped host the sale, invited the community to participate, sold raffle tickets, and put the proceeds towards these two special charities.

The $1,000 cheque was personally delivered at the Richmond Chamber of Commerce Luncheon on December 10th. Sally Houston – Council President was unable to attend.

A similar cheque was then delivered to the Richmond Food Bank.

Congratulations team Gilmore and a special thank you to all who contributed, donated and purchased!
